VANNED UK

BRANDING | CONTENT CREATION | VIDEO PRODUCTION | DOCUMENTARY | SOCIAL MEDIA

THE PROJECT

It started as just an idea. Through Dave’s passion for modified vans we helped to launch a brand new concept in a niche that we didn’t even know existed. For example, we had heard of the campervan conversions on YouTube. Although, not to the extent of what Vanned wanted to showcase. After a few phone calls, we set out to film our first feature video to set the tone of what the Vanned brand will offer to a yet to be gained audience.

MAKING THE IDEA VISUAL

Like every fresh new idea, it needs to be created visually. Importantly, a style and brand identity needed to be established to keep consistency throughout social platforms. So, we set out to make this come to life through design, video and content creation. The logo needed to be recognisable both on screen and in print format for stickers and merchandise. With this in mind the logo was formed along with a colour scheme and the phrase ‘For the love of modified vans’. This helped brand the images we produced for launching Vanned from an idea to a functioning ongoing channel. The style was set and the first video underway. What was to come was remarkable.

GROWTH

When looking into a niche that you haven’t heard of before it can be hard to estimate results. But seeing the passion for this project from Dave and Daz and after researching into the topic we could see that this had big room for growth. The first feature and video teasers had a great initial response! It gained 35,000 views on Facebook, later to be uploaded to YouTube as the focus.

We know that starting projects such as this can take some time to get the ball rolling into a snowball effect. In the first 7 months Vanned gained an audience of over 3,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and continues to grow faster week by week. The most recent achievement, unlocking the monetisation for YouTube creators!

LONG AND SHORT FORMAT VIDEO CONTENT

The main focus of content creation was the main feature videos that showcase incredible vans. However, the videos to be uploaded to their YouTube channel.  With them being 20 minutes long it gave a great opportunity to break down these longer formats. Excitingly, this allowed us to produce shorter visually eye catching content to post on other social accounts like Facebook and Instagram. Through a strategy planning session we could structure when and where this content would be shown, along side other social posts for the brand.

THE DEATAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We learnt quickly that the finer details of these amazing vans really make the difference. The owners explain every change they have made to reflect their vision. From 3D printed brake ducts to the kind of fabric used on seats, we discovered that these were important aspects for the videos. Components really helped get the community talking, commenting and engaging with the social media posts. Above all, it’s the audience engagement that really propels a channel such as Vanned forward.
